"...handmade like no other bed"
Vi-Spring has, over the past 100 years, established a legendary reputation for quality, comfort and support and gets purchased frequently by people who are aware of the importance of a good bed for their sleep and quality of life in general.

Every Vi-Spring bed is made by hand in traditional manner, exclusively using natural materials, based on quality standards unequalled anywhere in the world.

Steel of the finest quality first is treated with vanadium, before springs are drawn from it. Vanadium is used because of its pulling strength. It provides greater elasticity and has an incredibly long lifespan. Every spring then, under the right pressure, gets packaged in its own calico (cotton) pocket and therefore operates totally independently.

Then, they are nestled in a honeycomb motif. Vi-Spring's unique close honeycomb buildup allows for the use of many more springs than usual and thus to guarantee exact support, in every spot. This buildup also makes for a smooth sleeping surface, by not leaving any room between springs, and so prevents shifting of the covering layers.

This mattress core constitutes the elastic surface that adapts perfectly to your weight and ensures exceptional comfort and optimal support.

A Vi-Spring mattress can contain up to thousands of spring in separate cotton pockets with, on average 30% more thread than the average bedspring.

The Vi-Spring range of mattresses contains several spring options with different diametres and spring tensions, so that you can always find the mattress that fits you perfectly.

The mattress core of separately packaged springs is subsequently covered on top as well as below, with materials that stem directly from nature. Only in this way can Vi-Spring guarantee the healthiness and durability of your sleeping comfort.

Where possible, costly natural materials are used to boost a refreshing sleep: pure cashmere, fine lambswool, manelong horsehair and soft cotton. This mixture continues to breathe timelessly. The finest Egyptian cotton, coated with wax, is called 'cambric' and forms a protective layer to prevent the hair from pricking through the mattress' surface.

Each mattress within the range is typified by at least two rows of side-stitching, to fasten each external spring, by hand, to the mattress sides. Side-stitching is done by experienced upholsterers who use a traditional long needle and yarn for the fortification of the edges and seams.

This improves the durability and preservation of shape. The springs are securely embedded, but can move freely and adapt quickly to every movement of the sleeper. In addition, the comfort of the sleeping area extends itself to the utter rim of the mattress, without any hindersome hard edges.

The sowing of the mattress and divan edges and the fastening of the mattress grips are tasks that are all performed by hand. Micro-ventilation grids in the trims assure that the mattress core can breathe continuously. Each mattress is 'closed' by hand and expertly sowed for a perfect finish. Only damask of the finest quality is used to upholster these valuable mattresses.

Cotton or woollen dots are sown through the entire 'sandwich' of upholstery and springs to keep everything tightly in place and so achieve an even and comfortable spread of the stuffing.

Everyone agrees that the Vi-Spring mattress is of superior quality. But that's only part of the story...

Vi-Spring offers you a total sleeping system, in which the underbed (the boxspring) is the foundation on which the mattress rests. Naturally, the Vi-Sping underbed is manufactured with the same quality material and craftsmanship as the mattresses are.

The underbeds are made of carefully selected wood. All joints are screwed and glued to last a lifetime and are capable of carrying the extra weight of a Vi-Spring mattress.

Natural material is applied in layers above the spring system and covered with damask.

For maximal comfort and leisure Vi-Spring offers you a complete gamma of underbeds.

Vi-Spring (with the exception of top models Signatory, Exquis and Magnificence) sports 3 types of spring systems for the underbed, which make for a complete support of the mattress, and meanwhile make up a continuously aired space below. Two types of spring systems based on pocket springs, the third type based on Bonell suspension.

The underbed with pocket suspension offers more, and more accurate support than the classic kind with Bonell suspension. This is why Vi-Spring only uses Bonell suspension for the underbed in the Baronet Supreme model. The underbed with pocket suspension perfectly enables the mattress to directly react to personal bodymass, body profile and bodily length.

The Signatory, Exquis and Magnificence models sport a double spring system in the underbed, consisting of pocket springs on Bonellsprings, for maximum comfort. The underbeds are also available at several heights and you can opt for castors or wooden legs.

The electrically adjustable bed, the Recliner Deluxe, can be placed separately, or be built into a bedstead. Its electrically adjustable back segment and knee kink come standard, various possibilities are optional - such as an electrically adjustable neck support, wall-hugging (the bed moves backwards when the head is adjusted), infrared remote, pensioner height, an upholstered mattress buckle and an extra detachable cover for the encasement. Because boxspring and mattress are geared to one another, they form a harmonious unity, in which there is a matching underbed for each type of mattress.

If desired, the comfort of the Vi-Spring bed can further be enhanced by an optional cover mattress fitted with cotton, cambric and horsehair. For an even softer first contact with your Vi-Spring bed.

All components of your Vi-Spring bed have been designed to match the strictest British fire regulations: both the frame as well as the damasks and the stuffings. This is why your Vi-Spring bed has an M1-label, visibly affixed to the damask.

Vi-Spring, today too, relies on the expertise of its craftsmen, just like it did 100 years ago. Some Vi-Spring employees are part of the second or third generation. Each employee receives a specialized training in the traditional skills necessary for the production of a Vi-Spring bed.

There is only one way to manufacture the ultimate handmade bed - and Vi-Spring will never make concessions that endanger the quality of its beds. The quality of your sleep, after all, is essential to your general wellbeing. To ensure luxurious comfort and a good night's rest Vi-Spring gives you a lifelong guarantee on manufacture and material!
